Part II: Copeland Islands July 4-7, 2021
After discovering sea camping and the hassel free backcountry campsite reservations we wanted to come back and explore the lund side of desolation sound. Coplelands was much closer than Curme Island and had all the great benefits of a Island getaway.
July 4
After attending a close friend’s wedding in Squamish we heading to Horseshoe Bay to catch our ferry to Langdale and a second ferry from Earl’s Cove to Saltry Bay.
Once we arrive in Powell River we purchase steaks and got fresh produce at the Blueberry Farm. We re-organized our gear and was ready to depeart for our trip to Copeland Islands in the morning.
July 5
We learned that Powell River Sea Kayaks no longer delivers kayaks to Lund. We had to pick up our kayaks from Powell River Sea Kayaks in Okeoever and bring them to Lund ourselves. Luckily my car is equipped with a roof rack and we already had kayak straps in the car. Next time we will rent from Terracentric in Lund Harbour.

After we arrived to Copeland Island we set up camp and spent the rest of the afternoon playing in the water, snorkling and setting up our new inflatable water tubes.

We cookied a delicious steak dinner that night and played a never ending game of Crazy 8’s while watching the beautiful sunset.

July 6

Our goals for this trip was to relax. This trip was car camping on water. After breakfast, we got into our various watercraft, lunch and beverages packed and we set sail to the next closest island.

Once we returned home we made dinner and found some friends who we are hiking the Nootka Trail with in a few weeks!
July 7
We packed up and returned home today. The headwinds definitely picked up so we had to put a little more effort into our paddle back to Lund Habour. We stayed an extra night in Powell River before continuing our vacation to Ruby Lake Resort.
